City of Sandy Springs

In partnership with the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) bus service, the city is piloting Transit Signal Priority (TSP) technology using bus location data published through an application program interface (API) instead of communicating with a unit on board the bus.

This internship position is open to Georgia Tech and AUCC students only (AUCC: Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College).

City of Savannah

Exploring applications of emerging data analytics and machine learning techniques to leverage existing city data to guide decisions on the best strategy to deal with vacant and blighted properties in the community.

This internship position is open to Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Savannah State, and SCAD students only.

City of Valdosta

Piloting a smart traffic management system connecting all 128 city traffic signals, with enhancements to the system including hardware and software upgrades at signals and in the traffic control operations center and installation of communications responders in certain fire trucks.

Socially-Aware Mobility Lab

Piloting On-Demand Multimodal Transit in Atlanta (PODMTA)
Develop mobile applications and high-performance servers to support the PODMTA pilot which will be composed of rider and driver applications, a high-performance secure server architecture, and state-of-the-art optimization and machine learning algorithms to be deployed in a number of sites in the Atlanta region.
